Community Centre

The HelpingHandUK Community Centre opened in May 2011.  The Centre is a hub of activity where people with learning disabilities and mental health issues have the opportunity to involve themselves in numerous exciting, educational, vocational, social and leisure activities.

The Community Centre boasts an exciting interactive computerised educational system which keeps adults and children enthralled for hours. The stimulating new development of Soap Manufacturing is a first in the community and is a wonderful example of how thought, planning and knowledge of the needs of the clients are combined in a novel business enterprise which everyone can enjoy.

Our projects stretch over 8 locations and include Residential Homes, Supported Housing projects, Respite provision, Day Programmes, Family Support and a range of professional services for people from London and the provinces. HelpingHandUK also provide First Aid, Advocacy and Mentoring schemes as required. In our Community Centre we provide additional therapeutic activities for learning disabled people and their families. These include opportunities for socialising, Omi Vista Computer programme and Wii Computer sports and games.

HelpingHandUK employs over 75 staff and in light of Government cuts, we are more dependent than ever before on community support.
